The house that is on the site hosted Sam Houston and George Custer. It is a great setting for a living history event. The year 2013 will mark the forteenth year of the event and the 15th birthday of the 3rd Texas Cavalry Living History Group as we know it.
Liendo Plantation is located in Hempstead, Texas – 55 miles west of Houston, just North of Highway 290, on Wyatt Chapel Rd., in between Liendo Parkway and 1488. |

This event is a Period Ball only. The 3rd Texas String Band performed there in 2013 and 2014 and will return to provide music and dance calling again in 2015. Always a favorite of the 3rd, the Battle of Pleasant Hill near Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, is a true reenactment and provides a rare opportunity to relive history on the actual historic site of a real battle. The event will take place 3 miles north of Pleasant Hill at 23271 Louisiana Hwy. 175. Always the weekend closest to the 9th that doesn't fall on Easter. |
